He gave a keynote to a conference I was presenting at last year... fascinating man. He has 19phd's and has been advising the white house for longer than any single president ;)

He gives a basic lecture at all conferences, and its available on youtube, or at least there are several versions of it!

Meeting him at the conference, very cool! :)

19 PhD's?!!! Did his momma rob the bank?

Going to check it out on youtube, thanks.

Ray Kurzweil does not understand the brain : Pharyngula

("Myers' blog (Pharyngula) is also listed by the science journal Nature, which also embraces evolutionary pseudoscience, as the best blog by a scientist. Pharyngula is known for its sarcastic and often specious criticism of creation science and intelligent design theory" from Conservapedia)

I don't doubt that science and technology will produce improved apnea times if that is advantageous. But every improvement produces side effects usually unanticipated by the proponents. Just being able to read and replicate the genomic code is insufficient... most of the cells in the human body are not human, but microbial, working in general symbiotic relationships far more complex than the human genome alone.

Very true. When scuba diving first came out that was dangerous, this would be messing with the body on a much larger scale...

Links like this remind me of shows like Lost in Space, Back to the Future and such.

Can't say most people's outlandish predictions for the future ever pan out.
