The two guns on the left are new & the gun on the right & myself are the old. The tri coloured gun was made well over 20 years ago & it & its clones have been the mainstay of my battery for fish exceeding 30kg during this period. I have generally used rubbers about 4:1, but my shoulders are almost done from a life of physical work & cant do it anymore. This time in three weeks will see me a couple of hundred kms east of the Barrier reef & I'm hoping the 75mm extra length, the fourth longer rubber, a loading notch on the spear & a load assist rubber all help with getting the range from these guns I will need. I also have a couple of those new 11/32 x 6' spears if the recoil from the 3/8 shafts gets a bit much on the shoulders. A couple of the coloured originals, with the longer rubbers will take the trip also as the small guns. These can also shoot a 5/16 x 6' speed spear nicely, so if we find ourselves in a cyclone they can bee used to shoot reef fish.
