THE OMD FOM/FOY COMPETITION 2011

This year the OMD FOM trophy will be one of the oak fishes shown below, with the name of the winner engraved on a brass plaque.
Winners of the FOM are then entered into the OMD FOY competition.
This years incredible FOY prize is . . .

The best twenty flatfish entered into the FOM will be entered into a competition to win . . .
a prize made and donated by our very own Don Paul.
That's a prize donated by one spearfishing legend to honour another.

The poll will be added on the 3rd of each following month and will run for five days.
When the poll closes congratulations may be added to the FOM.

Please read the rules below before posting an entry.

1. The entrant must have posted five times at or before the last day of the previous month to the current competition.
2. Entries to be accompanied by a photo containing a newspaper or magazine dated on the day of the catch.
3. All legal species are included, BSA minimum size limits should be observed.
4. Entries must be posted by 23:59 on the 2ND of the month following the competition.
5. Winners will be chosen by a poll. In the event of a draw the first entry posted will be declared the winner.
6. Voting will last for five days after the poll opens.
7. Multiple entries are allowed, but only one entry per person can be forwarded for the poll.
8. More than twenty entries will be shortlisted to twenty by the db staff.
9. Catches to be weighed in pounds and ounces, catches submitted in kilos or grams will be changed to pounds and ounces by the db staff.
10. All decisions made by db staff are final.

Well done Shiny1, a deserved winner.

I was hoping it was going to stay level right up to the last minute so I could use my vote to make the red mullet win as it was clearly the better fish. I think there was some "he's won enough" going on!

Very humble Tom but a lot of folk would like to catch a big sole!
I must confess to voting for the mullet even though I don't like to eat them (horrible, like rotten pot bait, soft flesh - like a freshwater fish) however I must admit to get a daylight big one like that, was very well done.

I must say of all the fish i have entered this year in the FOM comp the Red Mullet was the one i was most excited about when i caught it.
It was a close vote for a while there Tom. Not so many voted this time on FOM.
Thanks to all who voted and entered in this months FOM. Good luck with Novembers comp and lets hope we get a bit of good weather before winter sets in.
