I am planning a trip to the Red Sea in the not too distant future, does anyone know of a good refrence book about the Red Sea?
So far everyone I talk with say the South end is the best diving and best conditions. This will be a once in a lifetime trip, so I want to be sure I make the right choice. I will be taking my son with me, and plan on doing a live aboard boat. Any suggestions or directions to look?
Thanks

I agree...from experience, taking a Liveaboard south from Hurgadah is your best option - and the further south the boat goes the better the diving is. I dived 2-5 times a year for 5 years in the Red Sea, and after some bad experiences found Oonasdivers, a travel company with their own dive centre in Sharm el Sheik and fleet of liveaboards. Every dive trip with them was a great pleasure. To get a feel for the diving down south, take a peek at their website: www.oonasdivers.com

Hi
I know this tread is abit old now but Naeem is right the Saudi coast is really unspoilt with some fantastic wall diving. Unfortunately the facilities in Sharm and Hurghada are so much better but overdived big time but hey its still good there too. Given a choice Id go to East coast.

The best diving in the GUlf, other than the Red Sea is definetly Oman. they have some pristine waters with great temperatures and beautifull fish, which also are very, very tasty :D
