Here's the fantastic trailer to an independently produced series of shorts about human encounters with Atlantians over time:

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0BNW1yjF0rc]The Underwater Realm - Official Trailer HD - YouTube[/ame]

The movies are all shot on RED cameras and feature not only real actors, but also some Freedivers, like Sam Still and myself. They'll premiere on youtube on December 25th.

Looks really cool. Will you be able to share some behind the scenes stories about the filming once it's out (or even before)?

Yes we have read extensively about your ass Daan, but now we want the behind the scenes gossip. All thats fit to print and future plans for Daan and his ass.
Wrote a blog about it here:

Daan Verhoeven: The Underwater Realm and my ass

and there's a bunch of videos about the whole 2 year production process here:

https://vimeo.com/realmpictues

with this as its undoubted masterpiece:

https://vimeo.com/48831267

and there's the website The Underwater Realm due to be updated very soon.

Nice to see the trailer too. Who's the one dolphin kicking at 0:30?

Her name is Amanda Holman, really talented actress who can also move very well underwater. She started out with breath holds of maybe 10 seconds, and ended up doing takes that lasted closer to a minute.

Sounds like the exact opposite of my freediving 'career'. Thanks for the info, I thought it was a freediver actually hence my question.

I remeber reading about this a while ago and not being able to make sense of the videos i saw back then, but after watching all the 3 minuet films and reading the "about" page on the site again, i still dont understand what it is i just saw. I mean yes its pretty cool, all the visual effects, but with these short 3 -4 minuet clips, i dont understand what there were trying to do or even show us...the life of the atlanteans? im not trying to discredit all the hard work that might have gone into this, but what was it all for? I dont get it. None of the shorts made sense to me....maybe im just an idiot, i dont know. could someone shed some light onto this.

It's just a set of shorts, not meant to be an entire story, but glimpses into different periods of time when humans have encountered the underwater inhabitants.

It was good to watch!! Thanks for sharing your work!

That's exactly what my wife says about freediving lol

Gotcha. Still cool

First nice job Daan and Sam!

Second, about the story, so far I've seen a few things that caught my eye:
- the scenes go from recent to the past.
- the Atlantiens try to save humans, but the humans seem to fail them.

I'm eager to see where they take the story, how many parts are they aiming for? when can we expect the final part?

Thanks, and very nice work Daan and Sam!
