Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
No, they are not black, they must be amber :).. And yes they will turn black if you store them in a plastic bag for a long time (I recovered mines halfway through :t). Here is my advice for storage.. First wash them throughly with soap to clean the black moss, then dry them and find some wood ash (as from a fireplace). Sieve the ash to get the fine dust from it and aply it to the bands. Now put some ash in the same bag you store the bands and keep it in the fridge (not the freezer). Make sure it doesn't get wet while in the fridge and they will be preserved perfectly well..
