I was reading an article over on medfish using dyneema to tie the band... My question is where would you get something like this? I am just getting into the sport and the first band was way to small and we used wire to make the wishbone. This looks amazing and would be hard for it to break.. I live in Plattsburgh, New York... I would think like a craft store or something?

Also how long should the band be? the length between the band and first notch in spear is around 54cms give or take a cm. I am planning on getting a 3.5cm wishbone so around 34cm for the band be about right?

Do a google search for fishing tackle shops; they normally keep dyneema in a number of sizes especially for big game fishing.

pretty much the same thing, but wire wishbones will eventually break (id know, i use them and love them) i replace my wire wishbones every 15 or so dives.

i cant even find any dacron that is 2mm... walmart... dicksportinggoods gander mountain...

anyone have any thoughts?

thanks guys... he has some wishbone line in the store but didnt say what size it was... i left him an email and let you guys know

I know rock-climbing shops stock this kind of stuff in various thicknesses. Could be worth a try...
