Cheers Maytag. In my country the official father's day is the 19th of March, but however, everyday is a daddy day with my little curly treasure.
You're always so perfectly sweet!

I took the 6 year old girl for a little freediving training yesterday. We met with Vaclav at Veterans Beach at Redondo, California to do some line practice. Water was quite choppy with about 2m visibility. The girl was pretty much unfazed while her dad (me) couldn't relax worrying about her.

As others have predicted, she is proceeding at an amazing rate. I make her wear a snorkeling vest but otherwise I'm sure she would be dropping to 50' and bringing lobster up for dinner.

All of you had a lot more fun than I did yesterday. :head

My father-in-law called me up an told me we had another salvage job. A 20'+ pontoon boat in Lake Koshkenog was totaled during a recent big storm. I expected to do a nice dive and play with some lift bags- until I saw the site. It turns out that storm washed this boat UP a hillside and left it there!

We spent the better part of the day digging a boat out of a swamp and moving it by hand- with the help of some plywood boards and PVC rollers. It was pretty much like moving a pyramid and we still haven't gotten her to the water yet- we ran out of daylight and the bugs started feasting.:crutch

By time we got back to my house my kids where asleep and everyone else had eaten. We still need to get back out in the next day or two so we can finish the job. In 27 years of diving this is the by far the strangest "salvage" job I've done to date. I'll post some pictures when I get them.

On a more pleasant note, we just got back from a three-day weekend of camping up in Door County. While we where there, we spent a whole day with the kids riding "Thomas the Tank Engine" and meeting "Bob the Builder". The rest of the time was spent swimming, hiking, and eating.

Now photos? As soon as I get the film back I'll post one from Saturday of my 6 year old getting mobbed by Garibaldi and Calico Bass as she fed them peas.

Looks like we finish up the gardening, I mean "salvage", job on Thursday so I'll get some pictures then.:head

Jon,
Cute photo of the kids!! How long does the cast stay on?

What are you guys going to do with the boat you salvaged? It looks like it is in pretty good shape?

Did they/you recover the medic transplant transport plane?

Great job,

Splint comes off on Sunday- she doesn't have to sleep with it on and gets to take it off for swimming.:)

The boat will be fixed up and used for inland lake side scanning- so we don't have to drag around one of the big boats.

Jon

Thank you maytag .. how nice of you remembering the Dads .. :)
I didn't even feel the day except for the few congrats and salutes from here and there .. you know, with all that women rights things overwelming the media we the dads are totaly out of the picture .. (looking around so no woman might be listening and accusing me for being anti-semie or something) .. rofl
Thanks alot again .. :inlove
