Only a hint for those who are interested on it, live in Central Europe and understand German:

Tonight at 21.00 on WDR: "Quarks & Co" about breathing, breathholding and so on.

You can receive "WDR" via satelite.

A snippet from the program guide (in German, sorry):

"Apnoe bedeutet Atemstillstand.

thanks for the tip, that was pretty interesting. Nicely presented, and the same presenter/scientist as the guy on the show were tom did a 8:34 static last week. Nice Oceanmen footage in the show makes the wait worthwhile. The same with the fluid breathing they demonstrated...

I was impressed by the experiment where the presenter has lowered his O2-saturation to 50 % until he got very slow in thinking.

For the ones who didn't see it: He breathed air with only 8% O2 for some minutes.

Sounds interesting, did someone record it? I'd love to see the documentary.
