Tom Sietas goes deep

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
I could but I am not german, I used google translation :)

Basically it says the event will take place in Red Sea (Egypt) from 1st to 15th September. Tom will try No limits and Variable Weight disciplines while there are some other team members that will dive in some other disciplines. And it also says something about Tom being the best in the world ;)

Greetings
Vladimir

You can get a pretty good idea with babelfish...http://babelfish.altavista.com/

Just replace "dipping" with diving in your head :)

It says something like "going with a sled deeper than anyone before". Previously I thought they we're just going to do some no-limits diving, but that seems to imply trying for a record. I wonder if by that they mean Patrick's dive?

If so, then I really really hope they know what they're doing...Will be an interesting event none the less...

Just may be their going to break the german records!

though if indeed their going for the world records, good luck to them all.

Well I don't know how good my translation is, but I hope it at least beats Babelfish ;o).

"Welcome to mossiontoblue, the apnea event 2005 in Sharm el-Sheikh. Here you can find information on the record event in the sports of Apnea.

Tom Sietas, multiple world record holder in freediving, will be going for records in the Red Sea at Sharm el-Sheikh between Sep. 1st and Sept 15th, 2005. Planned are new best performances in the discipline of No Limit. Tom Sietas will be expanding into the abysmal blue [???] deeper than any diver before, using a weighted sled.

Currently, Tom Sietas is the best apnea diver in the world (with breathholding times of over ten minutes and a record far over 200m in Dynamics). Now, the exceptional athlete is going for depth. Due to his brilliant physiological and mental abilities, Tom is like made for No Limit - the most demanding of all disciplines [not translated verbally]."

I already get into enough arguments with outsiders when they claim "9 minutes?! that's not possible", "10 minutes?!...", "200 meters?!...".

Tom is making my life harder, but I wish him luck all the same! :)

Best of luck to Tom, if I was to put my money on anyone it would be him.

That's exciting news. But aren't the worldchampionships in Nice for Constant Weight in the same time frame?

:) What tom's freediving game character might look like...

Hey there,

just some information about our event:

In this event Sabine Kückemanns, Sven Penszuk and I are going to be attempting to break national records in all depth disciplines.

The main aim of this event is to make some experience in the field of deepdiving and organizing in order to prepare for a World Record that might be set later.

Right now I am preparing for the indoor World Championships but it is also likely that I will be focusing on deepdiving next year.

All the best, Tom

Hey Greg, is this freediving game you captured the images from available for PC or PS2? :)
Some old 8-bit system from the looks of it.
