today I dove in 2 types of climateswith my new wetsuit one was like 65F then the other was about 78F.When I dove them I was wearing my 3.5mm opencell suit.OK so I dont know what happened to me but I got real sick feeling like nauseous and I couldnt breathe.after I took off the hood portion I was cold but fine....Am I just uncomfortable with a suit or can you actually get like heat stroke in one of those?

nope i was sober...i felt like i was diving hungover tho....maybe it was me overheating in a wetsuit and swimming against current in 6ft seas? I dunno but it was weird.

Caloric Vertigo??
Maybe the hood trapped some cold water in one ear and warm water in the other ear. making you feel sick!? its possible...I had it happed to me when I was doing a bay swim. I don't know about the breathing part though.

I got that way on my last trip to Florida on one dive, this is what I summarized about my situation. It's a lot of stress and your body is fighting so many factors. It's not the typical stress like at work. Your fighting a current and the waves are throwing you around, filling your snorkel. Your eyes are working hard to find something to focus on. Your thinking about breathing up and your strategy on the bottom. Your body is fighting off motion sickness. You get a little nauseous feeling and your body starts to get hot. Cold water definitely helps, especially on the back of the neck. Your mind can't fight all the little battles anymore. It's odd because your enjoying yourself, but your mind is getting tired.

So my guess would be motion sickness.

I agree with ILDiver- lots of stressors there. I think heat might be the main one- I'd cook in that suit at those temps.
Maybe breathup with the hood down, then pop it on just before the dives? Eventually during your session your core will drop in temp and it might be ok to leave the hood on.
I know I really am more comfortable in a big suit in cold water than in the heat.
