hello,

i have recently reached my PB of 3:00, nothing like some of the times i have read about on here but i'm getting there. ths only thing, is that it takes me nearly an hour of breath-ups to get there. frustrating.

im doing 1:00 breath then 1:00 under repetativly untill its comfortable, then pushing on to 1:30, 2:00, 2:30 then 3:00.

can anyone please point me in the right direction, am i making simple mistakes....?

thank you

Hi Mathew

This has been discussed a bit on DB, in fact if you look under 'similar threads' at the bottom of your page if you open your message, you will see quite a few that can help. The best thing from my point of view is not to get wrapped up in times, just try to relax and feel as comfortable as possible during the static breathhold, focus on a clear, relaxed mind, and you will find the time takes care of it's self.

Otherthing, never a good idea to do this alone. Good luck dude!

Jeff

Hi Mathew,

Relax is the real key, but it also sounds like you are pushing a little on your breathups, especially if you are only allowing one minute recovery for a 3 minute hold. One minute is pretty short. Try 2 minutes or more of 1 second in, hold 5 sec, 20 seconds+ out. Finish with 3 or 4 purge breaths, then start your static. This pattern is very relaxing, slows your heart beat and avoids blowing off too much CO2. Let us know how you do.
