Torn apart Spetton Yamamoto 45

Hi.. I just bought a set of Spetton yamamoto 45 3mm freediving suit. I went to the local swimming pool to try them on. After I soaped and rinsed it, I tried to put on the pants first. It's not tough to put them on at all till I pull the left leg up to the knee. The left knee below the enforced patch suddenly torn apart about 10mm as I tried to put it up. I was really surprised by this scene. Later I put on the jacket without much trouble. But what happened was the neck was torn apart as I tried to take it off. Well I am sure I was not using too much force on this delicate yamamoto. I am really aware of the delicacy of Yamamoto 45. But I think this is just crazy.... Is there anyone who had some experiences or anything like this. Or I am just too hulk?

I think there are 2 options.
1. You was not very careful (nails)
2. Bad/old neoprene or just bad wetsuit. Point is that neoprene also get old and gets gentle.
(had one exprience with Elios heiwa 5mm; breaked sooo easily after long time without use)
3mm smooth/open-cell is superstrechy, so it dont just break unless you insert something sharp in it (like nails)
Hope you understand.
Next time buy good brands only. Like InBlue, Elios, Polosub, Oceaner etc.

Well... I don't think it was the nails..cause the broken point was not the point I was pulling. I was pulling on upper part. Now I am trying to find a local shop that hopefully can fix it...

Repairing is pretty easy job, specially when dealing with smoothskin/open-cell wetsuit.
Use right neoprene glue (like seacsub) and right techniques. Like a childs play

And one thing more.
The glued spot never gonna break again.
Ive seen one Elios suit, that has been glued enormous times, and still doing its job like new

I'd try to get it replaced. Sure you can glue this together now, but how long until the next rip? One diving session, maybe two?

I really think this suit was being stored for too long after talking to friends who own yamamoto suit. I really didn't nail it nor pull it too hard...

i had to try with grooves on.. but the real hassle part is to take it off i was almost die in it. the top vest is quite a hardest part! i dont think i can swim quite well in it, also it isnt much models in the market for woman.. do you guys have any recommendation ? i think i will return my Spetton apnea wetsuit i saw o'neill one look quite comfortable. do you think i can use surf suit to do a freedive? or triathlon suit with a bit havier on weight belt?

Best choice would be tailor made suit, like Elios, Inblue, Polosub, Oceanos...
But if budget does not allow it, then triathlon/swimming suit is also good for warm waters.

But 2-piece tailor made 3mm smoothskin with hood would be best for this job

Hey Martin. Thanks for your replied. Sorry I don't quite get what you say. . So you rekon I can use orca suit for freedive? I have for one from wiggle yes. I ve found them easy to put on. The apnea wetsuit best hoody is so stiff sir me. I am afraid that I would not be able to swim with it well. I don't have a problem toile it made but they will always be the same problem of the vest one. My shoulder is too broad as a swimmer. So it is like to put my little sister stiff tshirt on I wish there is the one with zipper and under torso area with great flexibility

If you have broad shoulders as a woman, you are better off with a tailor made suit. The women suits have wide hips and narrow shoulders.
