Evening all.
Having checked out the area by the Nuclear power station it seems the breakwater would be an ideal place some spearfishing. It is deep, calm and is said to hold some nice fish. Plenty of cod have been caught off the breakwater and there are coalies, pollack and conger. A man was saying they get a few squid and lobster too.
There is access off normal breakwater rocks to the left of the lifeboat station (the small pier next to the breakwater) so no need to climb over large dolerite breakwater rocks.
There were a few folk fishing around the outlet but I am hoping that as it shall be a wednesday it'll be quiter and ther'll be a chance to spearfish in some very toasty water straight out of the power station. I recon where the current slows down etc there should be some kelp to hold on to etc. Looking at the site on flash earth there are a few gullies etc that are present. I suppose it all depends on the tide. This was the bass location for a while.
I'm not sure what time I'll be leaving Edinburgh that day but it'll most likely be in the morning as I intend to make a day of it. Well a few hours in the water trying various spots etc. It'll be my fisrt session in a long time so nothing too extreme.
If anyone is in the area or between Edinburgh and Dunbar and wishes to come along let me know and I can either meet you there or pick you up.
Cheers
Michael
