Towed by a boat

We used sleds in Hawaii for 2004 Nationals. It worked great & very fun to use as well. For covering large areas of grounds, they're invaluable.

The one in the ebay link is relatively easy to use, but is flimsy & broke on us the 2nd day of use!!! :vangry I like the design of Jon's one since (as we found out) having handles on each side wasn't the best design. As soon as you let go with 1 hand to equalize or adjust your mask, you run a very probable chance of doing barrel rolls Luckily I can clear hands-free, but others had trouble with this.

One of the coolest features of the sled is that you feel like you're flying! Hands outstretched & no kicking, I could get an extra 30 seconds of bottom time since I'm jst cruising along. No effort & recovery time was almost nothing. I do wish I had one of those swim-training snorkels that's in the middle of your forehead since if the boat goes too fast, it really pulls your snorkel to one side.

Did you compete in the 2004 Nationals? I was there on the sidelines. That was a sad day. Hearing about Gene really shook my wife.
