I go to the pool once a week and do underwater lengths (33m pool, weird I know), practice duck dives and do some plain breaststroke then some random stuff in the deep end. I was wondering what sort of things I should be doing to improve our rather bad pool sessions?

I don't know how advanced you are but you can try doing full lengths of the pool (as you said 33m). Try to do 10 of them in less than half an hour. Than try any attempt on 2 lengths. Finish with some static.
Just as an example I can tell you my training program. I go to the pool (20m) 3 times a week. Monday I do mostly surface swimming. I swim 1000m:
100m as the warm up
10x20m on one breath (20m exhale, inhale, exhale, inhale and another 20m).
100m normal breathing
10x20m on one breath
100m normal breathing
10x20m on one breath
100m cool down.
I finish with some static.
Wednesday - underwater swimming
10x40m in aprox.30min
relax
couple 60m attempts (depends how I feel)
static
Friday - I do whatever I feel like but it is a fun day so I try just having fun in the water. Some FRC statics, PB attempts (static or DNF).
I hope this can help you in any way. I know how you feel I worked out my personal training program by myself, as most of the people here, just observing my body and its reactions. I am the beginner like you. I don't use a wetsuit or any weights during my pool sessions.
Always have a safety diver with you.

Im only 15, and at the moment just trying inch by inch to get past that first length and going to be practicing the turns to get it muscle memory. Will try to get my body used to many lengths in a shorter amount of time and integrate some of your schedule :)

Try not to push too hard. Keep freediving fun and always have someone beside you to watch you while you are training. :wave
