Hi, I have a question. I have been looking around on a bunch of the forums regarding BCD preference for a while. Like many people here, I cannot stand the bulkiness and restrictiveness of jacket-style BCDs. Being new to the sport, I had never even heard of the other styles like the back plate and wing. I did a bunch of research, and I'm looking maybe at the Dive Rite TransPlate system. I was comparing it to the TransPac system and the question arose: what exactly is the performance difference between the two? The back plate system looks simpler and is slightly less expensive. I know some people on here have said they prefer the back plate system over the harness, but why exactly?
