Transporting spearguns - complicated situation

I currently live in Singapore, where I need a permit to own spearfishing equipment. I have a couple of such pieces, and the permit for them. Moving in a few days to Cayman, where it is totally illegal to spearfish or even own spareparts for such equipment.

I planned to send the stuff over to family in Ontario so as to spearfish in Canada. Have since found out it is illegal to spearfish in Ontario. Still no idea whether it is illegal to have the equipment in Ontario - can anybody help with this?

Another issue is that neither the local postoffice nor fedex will transport the items for me. I plan to travel Singapore-Cayman, was hoping to fedex the equipment to Canada. The only option I seem to have right now is to destroy the equipment! Suggestions would be very appreciated, I have been grappling with the issue for a long time and am at the end of my tether.

Well, obviously you should not take such a drastic action as to destroy the equipment. If worst come to worst you can still sell it thru ebay or local advertisement. Of course you can also sell the guns thru DeeperBlue. (See the Market Place, Goods for Sale). Fedex or DHL will transport your equipment as long as the destination is some country where it is not illegal to have it, such as the United States or the UK. Where did you learn that it is illegal to posess spearfishing equipment in the Cayman Islands? From the consulate? That is really strange, because spearfishing is legal in most of the Caribbean, with limitations regarding National Acuatic Parks and minimum distances from the shore. Sorry I can not be of more help.

I am moving to Cayman within days and cannot manage to sell off the equipment before I leave, be it ebay or Deeperblue. There are so many other big issues that need resolving before I leave. So I have to figure out what to do.

I can't send it elsewhere cos neither post nor courier will carry it, checked with fedex and DHL, its not the destination that is the prob, it is the equipment as it is considered weapons. My only options at this point of time are to hand-carry to Cayman (because I will be travelling directly there from Singapore) and be fined/arrested upon entry, or destroy them before leaving.

Thats strange I would think fedex would have no problem shipping it. Are those band guns?

Both Fedex and DHL refuse to transport them.
One is a band gun, the other is compressed air.

No way I can take them into Cayman, and I am leaving Singapore for good in a few days time. I can't leave them with a friend here and sell later, as he/she will have to get a license to own them and then not be able to sell them over ebay or whatever as nobody will transport them!

One possible soultion for you might be to disassemble the spearguns and ship them as fishing material parts.
I am living in Jakarta and could be intrested in buying your spearguns, if you are interested in selling. Can you tell me what spearguns you have?

I have two.
The newest is a compressed air gun Seac Sub Asso 50. Has only been used a few times.
The other one is a rubberband powered and it is a Simotal Sub, I cannot find the size specs on this gun but the steel rod is 148cm or approx 5ft long. Has been used about 20 times and is in good condition.

if you take them apart as well?
