You snooze you lose, spago :t Maybe you can be of more help in finding somewhere Mart can actually buy it though!

Mail order directly from Merou. Indeed Merous' products are excellent but uneasy to find in retail shops...
I can help with phone calls (I speak italian very well, and napolitan dialect too!).

I presume they're a different company from the Merou in france that I got my suit from:

The website I got it off, merou.fr, is no more unfortunately. They did trigger units too.

It's the same italian company: merou.it is the mother house in Italy (based in Naples), while Merou.fr is (or was) the french affiliate.
Most of their products are made in their facility in Naples with a low quota of outsourcing (I don't know if their suits are made in Italy or elsewhere...any clues?).
The trigger we're talking about is the same they used to install on their wood guns. Thay also make very good bands (I had Merou bands on yhe Excalibur Carbon I sold last year: power shots like a CANNON!), and a very interesting series of wishbones et cetera.

Hmm not easy to find what I am looking for!
I have been working on a plan to build my next gun, it will be based around a very ridged carbon fibre spine that will incorporate the trigger & track. I have the design in my head & the carbon mat on order (red) but I will need the trigger before I can start work.

Well the package with my mtm suit in definately came from France, and the person I talked to was definately french. But that was 2 years ago.

Anyway, sorry Mart, hijacking your topic. Gun sounds interesting. You could email them asking if they'll send you a trigger? Red carbon fibre? Not seen that before!

sounds goo but then why not the Merou trigger? the "built in line release" requirement narrows the field a lot: there is not much choice.
There would be so much more available without the built in line release...

How about a Rob Allen quick change "cassette" trigger mech, it has the line release built into the trigger unit? (Perhaps Rabitech have something similar?).

A plastic trigger for a handmade hybrid?!?!?!? :naughty
It's same as serving red mullett at a wedding dinner! That should horrify a fine palate like yours, Foxy! :t
Ermes sub triggers have a great reputation. Check the type called "Back con sgancio" (inverted with incorporated line release)

fox check out neptonics theyr'e in the States though, dunno if its feasible for you.

Tone I have been thinking along those lines but I would have to buy a spear as well?
I am not sure if I can adapt a euro spear to fit the mech?

:DI tend to agree. I have an old, worn mech. that might be useful for parts/template but it won't work reliably as-is. Aren't some of the Rabitech mechs. stainless steel? To buy an RA-mech, probably simplest to contact RA direct via their website at RobAllen.co.za

Nothing wrong with red mullet - but I doubt if it would be sufficiently appreciated at a wedding.

Tony no worries, the red mullet bit was just a bit of a joke cause Foxfish hates the taste of red mullet (while I love it)
As for the trigger, I assume Rabitech or RA mechs must be really strong, but for a handmade gun I believe that the clean, shiny, handicraft look of an all SS trigger cassette will fit better, but only in terms of aesthetics.

Quite right - nothing wrong with a red mullet as long as it is alive & happily swimming along!
