I have this small lake west of town that has Rainbows and Browns in it. But I can't seem to get close enough, lots of big ones to. So a longer pole spear or bait, maybe an air tank to stay under longer. What do you guys think?

hmm, not the air tank and probably you should not be shooting game fish at all. check local regulations first, is what I think. Take care.

Here in Saskatchewan we can shoot what ever we want aslong as its within the size limit ( except sturgeon we cant shoot them) so I'm still looking for help.

They all seem like great Ideas but the lake I'm hunt wont allow us to use air powered or guns with more than one band. so I'm kinda stuck with the pole, seeing as I can't use my sling because it doen't have a shooting line.

There are lots of guns out there with one circular single band.
Among the best are Rob Allen and Omer, but lots of others too. The will have plenty of power for anything you can find.

The alternative is to put the time into learning how to get closer to the fish. To do that you will need to learn how to be really calm and smooth in the water. Takes time, but it will make you a much better spearo.

Trout are spooky fish. A tank will only hurt your stealth. A basic euro gun like omer or similar would help a lot. Try to use cover on the bottom to your advantage . Ambush your prey if can.

If you're having trout problems I feel bad for you son, I've got 99 problems but a trout ain't one.

8 foot pole spear with an extended shaft should do the trick" my pole spear is over 10 feet with everything on. 27 inch extentions. Gives me just the right amount of range AND everyone is like " holy shit " when you put it all together and hop in.
