TSA Rules for Traveling with a Speargun

Hi folks,

I happened to be on the US Transportation Security Administration site reading up their "Traveling with Special Items" editorial and got a big kick at the fact that they now specifically mention their requirements for traveling with a speargun under the article's fishing equipment section.

I am posting the link below in case any of you encounter any problems checking in your spearguns. It would be handy to have this page either bookmarked on your smart phones or printed so you can show the misinformed airline rep next time you are traveling with your guns.

TSA: Traveling with Special Items
..."Spear Guns"

Spear guns are prohibited from carry-on luggage. These items should be packed in checked luggage. Any sharp objects packed in checked luggage should be sheathed or securely wrapped to prevent injury to baggage handlers and security screeners."...
Cheers,
Claudio
