Tuna Gun.

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.

Aloha Pastor,

Yes now you can relate to the sound it must have made when it exploded. It held up under the weight of a truck for a few hours with no prblem. But after a few hours with it inflated to 3 atm, it held for a a few hours and then the seams blew out while Rick was going up the stairs to show his honey. Definitely not something to try at home. He was deaf for a while.
At least we know it holds 2 atms and up.

rofl rofl rofl Poor Rick! I bet Mrs Rick had some laundry to do after that! And probably some friendly dentist had to glue a few teeth back in rofl

I didn't realise either that you had 2 sizes, I had seen the pic of the truck parked on the little one and assumed that they were the same size as the Omer one I use here. That big one looks the business for my hopefully regular trips to Singapore in the not too distant future.

Just to let you know that not all fish are shot with big guns or shafts as you may already know from the euro gun guys because I just got these pictures of a pending NZ and World record Striped marlin.
It was taken by Wayne Pigott with a 60 in magnum hybrid and 5/16 shaft and Aimrite sliptip.
Awesome fish and nice guy.

Wow, great fish.

All this discussion on whether a 5/16" shaft is big enough for a tuna or marlin reminds me of the guys who insist we need a 5/16", or even a 3/8", for white sea bass and yellowtail in Southern California.

I keep using 9/32" in my Wong guns. They work fine and I haven't even bent one yet.
 
Always struck me as a little bit widgety. It's just asking to have bits knocked off it
