Any SA guys interested in trying to organise a Tuna trip sometime at the end of the year? (when we all get our bonuses!):t

I beleive Bellville underwater club is in the process of planning a tuna open in November sometime...

sounds good....got any more info? where about and when do they have meetings etc?

The club is opposite DF Malan high school. We have weekly meetings on Wednesdays at 8 and during summer also play u/w hockey on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We have a spearing comp once a month with prize giving the next Wednesday. I stand under correction but I think your joining fee is 250 or 300 buck and a yearly sub of 150 there after.
About the comp if I remember correctly your total cost will be like 6500 for 3 days, 3 of which will be entry fee and payment for boats. The other 3500 will go into a petrol pool. You will be on a different boat every day and you get money not spent on petrol back, so everything thats left over in the pool after the comp will be devided between all divers, so if boats dont go out you dont pay. Boats and skippers will be profided by hout bay boat club I think, but if you want to enter your own boat you must take a alloted crew every day. The prizes will be cash from the entry fees and other goodies sponsored or bought from the moneys. As far as I know it is also a open comp so anybody can join but Im not sure... Please note that Im not completely sure about all the stats that I gave here but I mite be like 50% rite in most instances. Ill get more details and such at our next meeting

R6500! bit steep for me......hehehe...
wanted to try organise something for one day.....and all pay around 1500 or so each...but thanks alot for the info!!!!!!
ill probabaly make a turn next wednesday!

reply my brother bought a new boat ill find out what he will charge us for a trip, he normally only wants to recover his costs.

K my bro says he can only go 15nm on his license though his boat is big enough for tuna grounds. So he cant help us unless the tuna is close inshore. He does however know a couple of people that might be able to arrange for an affordable trip.

sounds good man......any trip on a boat for fish sounds good to me! heehee
lemme know whats what.....
