See the pictures. Both arrived with a small torsional twist. If I had the store next door I would return them. But I don't :head. My choice/fault. Scubastore took it up with Speton, who are on holiday. Nata (C4) tells me to take it up with Scubastore. No answers. Both fins exactly the same.

3 weeks of just looking at my fins, I want to use them.

Will the torsion affect their directionality?

IMHO It may not be anywhere as bad as it looks. First, unless you are applying pressure you have no idea what they will do in the real world. Second, if they are warped, it may help your stroke. In five pairs of C4s that I've used, four of them worked better if I labelled them R and L even though there was no apparent difference. Of course we are talking pockets, legs, feet and a warped mind but all my fins are straighter than my legs.
There's an old tale about a schooner. I think her name was Bluenose. Like the old tunnel story, two groups started building, one at each end. When they came together after 50 some meters the keels didn't align so they laid them side-by-side. Turned out that on the downwind run to Europe it didn't make any difference and coming home on starboard tack no other boat could stay with her. The Canadians were so proud that they put her likeness on the back of their dime.
Excuse an old man for 'talking story' but first I'd try the fins to see if there is a problem.

P.S. If it's a 40, I'll buy one to try and fix a problem that I've always had with banging the fins together.

Don´t worry Simon, the same happened to me, but with the use they get "normal" again

Thanks Bill and Frank. I have mounted the footpockets and plan a good workout this weekend. All I have to do is work out how to avoid the rocks at my normally rough entry point..

Incidentally, I used MILLENIUM RUNNER (Omer) footpockets rather that the supplied Spetton ones. They seemed to fit fine.

The people who distribute C4 in the US are the same ones who distribute OMER products, so all our C4's come with OMER pockets and a lot of people seem to love them. Let us know how it works out. I'm taking out my Carbonteks for the first time tomorrow and I can't wait!

to be honest the spetton pockets looked better but they are 40-42 size for when I am lucky enough to get into warm water. the milleniums are 42-44 to use with my 5mm bootees. 12 deg C.... the spetton pockets are thicker and stiffer, the rubber more "rubbery". The little plastic thing into which the screws go is also longer on the spettons to account for the thicker base rubber.

good viz to you all. storms here!

I couldn't get comfortable in the Spetton pockets. They were really wide, and the edge around the foothole was really thin. Only footpocket to actually give me blisters, even through a 4mm bootie. I hope they work out better for you!

i did notice a pain on the top of my foot behind the toes. is this what you mean when you say "thin"?
