monday and tuesday i went on a spearfishing trip to tail end with a total of 5 people on a 39 ft sportfishing boat. we killed ALOT of fish. the total was 16 hogfish, 10 muttons, 1 cubera , 11 mangroves,1 big amberjack at 37 lbs and 42", 6 yellow jacks, two triggerfish, 1 big permit, 3 red groupers and three black ones(i think thats all of them) the water out there was crystal clear, in excess of 100 ft and super calm. this weather was perfect! really nice trip. we freedived from 8 am to 630 pm both days non stop. i am really tired. for those of you who dont know, tail end is the end of the florida keys reef system. about 41 miles from key west. it is ups and downs from 50 ft deep and up to 20 or so. and it just rolls like that for miles and miles. the current rips out there but the water is clean. we had a12 ft hammerhead swimming next to the boat. i took pics. we took a whole bunch of video too, after it gets edited i will see about posting some. ps: there is a snorkel for scale in the pics if you look . it is an omer zoom snorkel

here are some more pics the one on the right and left. is the 12 ft hammerhead on the left he is finning about 20 ft from the boat, on the right, he is swimming on the bottom at about 25 ft deep. (really clear water huh?) the others are sunrise on the boat. we anchored up overnight on this ledge. and just before sunrise i was the first one up, you shouls have seen all the action in the water! stuff jumping, schools of yellowtail and bermuda chubs swimming up. giant spashes.,(who knows what THOSE were! large dark shapes every now and again,(i do know what those are) it was freaking beautiful! really nice weather.
