UK Salmon?

UK guys......

Whats the score? they are in the open sea, about 6-10lb but are they fair game or is there something i should know?

Afraid so Ben Dont do it, the penalties are astronomical!!!! REALLY!!!!
EVERYTHING you used to catch them will be confiscated and that INCLUDES your car if you used one to drive yourself there and that is before the ridicuolous fine you'll get in court. Just not worth the hassle mate!

As you may realise...im just starting out this season. Is there a spearing list of do's and don'ts...... Im an angler anyway and know size limits and no take area regs but is there regulations specific to spearing i can be directed to?

Not really apart from game fish, Sturgeon and lobsters/crabs. Try looking at Dave's website under tips and tricks, he has it just about covered as far as UK spearing goes. The British Spearfishing Association have a good load of information too

Try and buy a copy online of "The Spearfishermans Handbook" by David Way. It is an excellent book written exclusively about spearfishing in the UK and although slightly dated equipment-wise, still covers all legalities and fish sizes etc. I bought my second copy a few months ago, do a Google search 'cos I can't remember which company sold it to me!!

I managed to get one off amazon used for £2.50 plus p&p. Unfortunately they only seem to have a used one at the moment for £28??? A sudden demand for this book?

Shame.....

Just out of interest....do you lot come across them on a regular basis? and more to the point are they regularly found with bass? The ones i saw on the weekend were and were right at the surface....spectacular!
