Great job Alun on the Umberto interview. Nice insight on his personality and philosophy. Is there a part 3? I'm curious as to his spearfishing thoughts.
Cheers,
Erik Y.

thanks! i think you could ask Umberto almost anything and you'd still get an interesting interview as a result! i'm afraid there is no part III.

i mentioned in the "set a national record" thread that i went to Sharm El Sheik to meet him. during our phone conversation he told me that he was in Sharm from Dec 4th running an instructor course. i said that i would be in the area until Dec 5th and that i might drop by.

myself and three friends (Erez, Jonas and Carina) eventually tracked him down at his Apnea Academy centre in Sharm. we got to chat for an hour or so before i had to leave to catch my flight home. everyone i know who's met Umberto has told me what a great guy he is... and he really is. he's very friendly and down-to-earth and always has time for people. i was very glad to have met him.
