Connor, I guess the rope was at least 8m long, possibly 10m, and there were max 3 people per rope - 2 was better. It was tied to the back of the RIB, very close to the waterline, but it was only possible to 'surf' if about 5m or more back, otherwise there was too great an upward component on the pull. Ideally I got the tail end position which made it easier - they'd also tied a big knot at the end that you could grab without getting so tired on the grip. In the middle position I needed to change hands every 10 minutes or so. The rope needs to be quite thick to be able to grip it comfortably. Naturally it was best if two of us were down at once, when the rope was straightest.
