if you don't plan on filming very deep, sony themselves makes something called a sports pack for their mini dv and dvd camcorders and the list on it is only 249.99 and it is compatible with numerous cameras from sony.

I personally own this and have found it to be of impeccable quality. it comes with full controls, a stereo microphone (a 150.00 feature on some housings) and is rated to 15 feet. I can personally admit to having mine to 25' and it didn't leak. will it be he same for you? I can't say.

if you need deep diving capability, maybe we could talk about my recently fully serviced hi-8 yashica and amphibico housing I believe it is good to 150 M

If you or anyone else is interested in that camcorder/housing & accessories combo, or if you have ?'s about it, just let me know at Mustangmermaid@gmail.com

hope the tip helped...
