upcoming california comps

I live in the tahoe area and I am looking for any upcoming freedive comps on the california coast. I also have a 12 year old daughter who is getting close to 30m and would like to know whether there are any special youth comps or records.

The USAA is the official AIDA component in the United States . Competitions require a great deal time and resources. The difficulty in the USA (and all North America) is obtaining insurance to cover the facilities and those organizing the competition. The good news is that officers of USAA worked very hard this year in getting insurance. So we can look forward to future competitions. Look up USAA on the web. Sorry I can't a URL right now.

The USA had one competition so far this year in Hawaii. Those folks might organize another but I have not heard of any. The last official competition in the USA was the 2004 USAA Nationals. It was held a Loyola Marymont University near Los Angeles. When another competition happens, it will probably be in California. The there also was the Freedive-a-palooza which was constant weight. There are no age group levels although USAA does have a seniors category of sorts.
