I've tried several times today to add links into posts but when the new or edited post is submitted the UI just freezes up, blank. All of the changes are lost.

If the links are left out, the post succeeds as normal. Re-add links, post fails again, loosing all updates.

I've experienced this on two different computers on two different networks, on two different threads. Using Firefox 13.0.1.

Thanks Magpie. Perhaps it is area-specific? Let's see if I can create a URL in this area...

No that didn't work. Now let's try entering the tokens manually...

No that didn't work either, and it lost the text, so had to re-type that line above. Let me try a different browser....

Ok let's try IE9...

Oh, that works fine, get a prettier pop-up dialog too - and a honking great read bar at the top of the page "Amazing Freediving Lanyards".

I guess I may need to enable more functionality in NoScript or AdBlock add-ins.

Let's try enabling Cloudfront.net....No, that didn't help.
Let's try enabling quantserv...No, that didn't help. Still can't save the post.
Let's try enabling everything....http://forums.deeperblue.com/support/95294-url-tokens-broken.html#post885276
Ah, that worked but now I have that ugly big red bar. Let's see if I can remove that...

No I can't, for some reason being able to save URL links depends only on enabling that big ugly red bar (Hellobar.com) that wastes a a big chunk of my limited screen space :(.

Ah, but if I click the arrow on the right it shrinks to an annoying but far less obtrusive big red arrow button - presumably just in case I want to show the red banner again (as if).

CONCLUSION: Resolved as follows

1. The ability to save posts containing URLs was blocked by NoScript filter in Firefox13. Enabling (only) Hellobar.com fixes the problem but results in big red hello bar at top of browser window.

2. To shrink Hellobar, click arrow at right-hand side of Hellobar.

same happened me at work last week... I didn't change any settings but just left it. Figured somebody was working on the server.

It doesn't surprise me that FF13 is causing the issue. With the rapid pace of browser updates it does mean that things get broken regularly.

The quick reply box does use javascript to send and update so that is why there are issues. Will look for a patch.

As for the hellobar at the top - that has been around for almost a year now and is a critical part of our new design so that isn't going to go away :)

Unless you click its arrow on the RHS - I can live with that :)
