I have no idea how many people from Utah are on here, but I thought we should have a little thread to organize things together and for people coming to Utah to be able to have a thread to get information from. On www.utahdiving.com they have just started a spearfishing section. Here is the list of dates they plan on going out as a group:
June 16-17th Nationals @ deer creek
June 24th Starvation
July 8th Flaming Gorge
July 22nd Fish Lake
August 5th Kens lake
August 12 Starvation
August 26th Fish Lake
Sept 9th Deer Creek
Sept 23 State Champ Meet Flaming Gorge
Maybe we can pick a few times to go meet up together and hunt, they will probably be using scuba gear, and will most likely welcome us. If anyone wants to go to other lakes, or other times let's figure that out and go have some fun. My wife, my friend and I are going to East Lake in a few weeks to have a little crawdad and freediving party. I will let everyone know how it was and maybe we can get together with friends and family and just have a saturday or sunday party: fishing, boating, freediving, and collecting crawdads. No reason for us not to go out to the lakes just because friends and family don't dive.
If you can, get a copy of the Utah fishing proclamation and become familiar with the laws. http://www.wildlife.utah.gov/proclamations/2006_fishing/2006_fishing.pdf
