Went to Catalina Island yesterday to freedive the new underwater art installation by Doug Aitken. The visibility was not the greatest, but it was a lot of fun to play around in the mirrored dodecahedrons. By the end of our dive we were threading all three in one breath. Worth a visit if you're in the area.

Great video!

I'm headed there for the first time in 2 weeks, do you think the art sculptures are still there?

Thanks! The sculptures have been removed. The dive park by Casino Point is a great place for a dive though. Be sure to check out Lover's Cove on the opposite side of the ferry landing also. Good for a quick afternoon dive while waiting for the ferry.

Enjoy! Gotta get back there soon myself also.

Catalina was a blast!

I was able to pass my personal best of 30 to 47 feet and my friend did 68 feet.

We were able to reach the Cousteau memorial and check out the diving bell, but couldn't reach some of the ships.

Nice, sounds like it was a good time. I need to get back soon before winter. Getting excited!
