A small story of what happened here:

On the way out to the tuna grounds, the topic of sharks was brought up. South Africa is notorious for its Great White shark population, so its a question which ALWAYS crops up. So, we inform our Spanish friends that there are NO Great White sharks in the deep, only small blue sharks, which are fairly common late in the season and the VERY occational Mako. We've probably seen less than 10 mako's over the past 2 years, so the possiblity is fairly small of them getting one!!!

Murphy's law!! Danny gets in and IMMEDIATELY see's a young mako!!! To top it all off, they then have the unfortunate luck to get a second mako as well!! Luckily, the YF soon arrived and all thoughts of sharks went out the window!!

Regards
miles

they aren't as free as utube (in fact I'm not sure he's selling the dvd's anymore) but my friend Barry Paxman in Perth Australia sat me down in his living room and showed me the dvd's they've made, I assure you you won't find better diving vids out there, in one dvd they are completely surrounded by tiger sharsk and just keep smacking away at the huge spanish mackerel. In another Barry had to deal witha 14 foot tiger shark because it was harassing them so much, one shot one kill aint bad for a shark that big, they've got the jaws on their wall haha. Here's their dive club website anyway, these guys are about as hardcore spearo as you'll find in the world (check the record books for aus and worldwide for the name paxman haha its rediculous)> I'm not sure they are selling but either way their website is great. I have the Paxman family to thank for this Canadians addiction to spearing (and a bed to sleep in while I was in Perth)
