Is there any way of viewing more than the last 5 reputation comments in your user profile? While I was away I hadn't checked and I think a couple of comments fell off into the wilderness.

Cheers,
Ben

Ben,

Unfortunately no. There are administrative tools you can use as a mentor but no way that as a user you can use.

Thanks

Congrats on your century Benny and joining the 100 club. While rep is really just a bit of fun it does add a little something to the overall ethos of DB. Sometimes I have recieved more than 5 reps for something I have written and the first one gets pushed off pretty quick, so I'm not sure if I have seen them all. However one of the best bits of advice I ever recieved about using DB was to make the user CP page my DB listing in my favourites and so that's the page it always opens at. This way I always see my last 5 rep every time I log on. Think it would be good to have the last 10 reps listed but not sure if that's possible or wether Papa thinks it's worth it.

Dave

PS I'm gonna rep you for your post so prepare to be 101.

Ha, thanks for that - I think Apneaboy was on a reputation rampage to get me the century, he must have mistaken me for an english batsman and tried to help me along

Reputation is a nice thing to have but I sometimes find myself having dirty thoughts about wanting more rep, which is a narcissistic thing really and not what DB is all about. I want to not look at it for long periods but then I start thinking that i'll offend someone if I ignore their comments so I end up checking it and get back into the vicious circle.

But if someone gives you a compliment it's nice to go back and look at it from time to time.

Cheerio,
Ben

ps Thanks Dave for the extra bump! Might go look at myself in the mirror for a while now.. Oh i'm soo pretty... :inlove

Its just a cool way of saying thanks or well done or cheers for making me laugh or whatever. Just trying to help you on your way Benny.

English batsmen... I applaud the attitude the English have to their cricket... i almost got on a pedalo completly s*** faced only the other week on a stag do in Meggaruf in Menorca. Its a top idea and should be a lesson to us all. lol. I only missed the beach and the pedalo because i seemed so popular in the town as there was no-one else there apart from us and every single bar was offering free shots of .. whatever

Now where is that thread on the ruggers gone????

I used to like the old karma system when members could give negative rep too, it was a good way of self regulation, not that it is often needed here but occasionally someone lets off a stinker I was looking at [ame="http://forum.fishing4u.co.uk/showthread.php?t=4339"]another forum[/ame] last night where they had a thanks and groan system, I thought that was quite good too

Hey Pastor you are really getting into this fishing thing then?

Me? Hell no, septic eagles are more likely to fly out of my arse. I do like to scan the local forums to see what's going on though, especially after Tecdave caught that arsehole trying to give us a bad rep in my back yard rofl

I used to like that too. Of course, there is the risk of someone giving negative karma because they don't like someone or disagree with them, but if there is positive karma/rep, I think there has to be negative too.

True Lucia, at least now our names are included with rep. In those days it was be anonymous and I think some did use it to send insults to others.

yep i remember that rofl i got one from icarus pacific rofl i have never let him forget it

At least now you have to insult people in public (unless you PM). Actually there hasn't been a good insult session for ages. Where are the good old days, where the personal insults flew thick and fast until someone got banned. I remember some crackers. Most viewed thread status was quickly aquired when the insults started. Has anyone been banned lately? Are we all turning into whimps?

Dave! Hiss off rofl

There was a guy banned temporally last year for suggesting that we were turning into wimps, dancing around snorkels if I remember rofl Thankfully the ban was lifted the next day when the misunderstanding was sorted out (before my time on the staff BTW).

I don't think there is any problem with a good argument as long as it is kept clean, it's bullying or baiting tactics that wind me up. Anyway if people do get offended there is always the report a post button which is always discussed quite quickly by the staff before taking any action, which is usually a polite PM. It's not often thankfully that anything is actually done about anything here as most members are adult enough to know how to get along in a community.

Possibly a good "you've been naughty" punishment would be a "sent to Coventry" button were a member would be able to post and read his own posts made during the allotted time but no one else could. even after the sanction expires rofl

Good point. I was using the forum for quite some time before I noticed the rep. & months before I found that there were messages associated with it that you could read. I missed all my early feedback. Hope nobody got miffed. [Perhaps increasing the list size from 5 to 10 would help some?]
