folks, I am experiencing poor near vision, can't read my dive watch anymore. This is something new to me, but I guess I am not alone on this. What would be the simple economical way of correcting near vision? I am thinking about disassembling 1$ reading glasses and using one lens for left eye, probably just glue it to the bottom of left window. But, will it work? Say, if I am ok with about 1+ reading glasses, what number would I need for underwater correction, is it the same or bigger number? Or is it + or - altogether? Please let me know how it works.

I'm far sighted and need about +1 1/2 to focus on infinity. I bought cheap lenses from Edmunds with 650 focal length (reciprocal is 1 1/2) and glued them to the inside. They work great above and below the surface. Your mask alone is about 1 1/4 underwater. Doing one eye is called mono vision and it bothers some people. Easy to check.
