I'm planning my move to Exuma/Bahamas next year and in need of a mens watch that has define one minute clicks on the bezel also, good night time illumination, Self Wind and barometer and compass. I've looked on line and find it very confusing and too many features plus, most of the watches are the size of a bagel. When I used to scuba dive Baja/Pacific waters I had a men's Sieko/self wind and always liked the define clicks of its bezel.

Hi BiL,

Can't help you on the watch, I'm a confirmed D3 user.

I looked back at a previous post and realized I missed your reply, sorry.

The new (to me) boat has the range to get to Exuma, probably won't make a trip for that far for at least a couple of years. Still, where is your lot? Great Exuma? Staniel? Darby? Have you got the house built?

D3, I'm new to some of these terms help me out.
Exuma, on the lee side of the island about one kilometer from Georgetown, take Old Airport Rd to the other side, in the bush, just a lot.

The D3 is a freediving computer, not just a watch. It keeps track of things like surface interval, depth and time of each dive, dive log, etc. VERY nice for freediving. Its out of production, but Aeris has an alternative out, the F10. There are a couple of threads in Freediving equipment about it. Friends of mine who have them say they are superior to the D3. Cost is more than the average watch, but not too bad.

D6 is nice, someone told me the freedive mode is now improved. Has a backlight and a compass, no bezel but lots of time and stopwatch functions. Loads of extra features too for scuba.

As for the barometer your ears will get that fine tuned from freediving you will be able to sense weather chages coming and height differences on mountains and stuff, let the force guide you

Appreciate all ya's help, I like the comment about pressure changes above water /barometer. Spent about 15 yrs freshwater free diving on a lake in Wisconsin and by diving in the pacific and baja I've found it more enjoyable being in the water with less gear.
Thx again

Hi Island Drive

Questions:

1. When you say barometer, do you mean depth guage, atmospheric pressure measurement, or both?

2. Would you like a dive watch, and separate pressure & compass instruments?
