I just got a Waterway glide (thanks to Stuart's feet being too big....)

it's the first time I've had a fin with an angle on the feet like that, and feels very different to the leaderfins and normal waterways I've used in the past...

I'm pretty sure I'll love it once I have the technique sorted, but definitely need to adapt my finning style to the new fin. I've used a lot of upper body in the past but feel like that might need to change - any recommendations?

Hi

I still have poor mono technique, mostly due to my lower back problem after car accident.
Anyway, I hear a lot about Glide including tips from Martin. He says that this is such a unique and powerful fin You don't kick as hard as with "normal" fin.
Weaker, easy move supposted be the key to success with Glide.
Have fun and good luck with it!

Lots of technique training with small fins on helps a lot. They are a MASSIVE improvement on the 1st generation ones you will love it :)

Sam - it just occured to me - maybe this is your first 'hyper' or non-axial fin?
When I transitioned to this type of fin the advice that helped me most was given by Pete Scott (Laminar) - while on the surface with arms in the streamlined position - legs straight - he advised me to lift my rear out of the water while trying to keep the arms level. This is what really got me going on the road to good technique. Hope it's of some use.

Interestingly I just received this link from Lubos at Tropol fins - it contains a finswimming tutorial :) You'll need to create an association with the SAFlashPlayer.exe which is included - then you can bring up a menu driven screen for all the parts of the tutorial. It is quite extensive and thorough. The menus are in Czech - but theres no dialogue in the videos - so you can just pick and choose what you want to watch.
