Hi all,

I was just checking out the Waterway page and it seems like they're having a closing sale:)

Are they shutting down for good? Anways, just wanted to let you all know about the reduced prices (I am in no way affliated with Waterway).

Welcome to Waterway

Good Question I Ordered At Full Price 20 Days Ago Payed Full Price E Mailed The Owner Asked For Discont Because They Were On Sale A Couple Days Latter Was Told By The Owner That Peter Had Decided To Have A Sale I Guess Peter Is The Canadian Distributer I Have Not Gotten My Mono Nor The Discount Hope It Shows Soon Payed 204 Dollars With Shipping Charge

Rob,

Which monofin did you order?

I just bought, and am waiting for, a new Waterway NEMO monofin that I purchased through PFI. Since PFI took over distribution of Waterway fins I wonder if just "Waterway Canada" is closing and that Waterway itself will stay open- and distribute through different channels?

Jon I Bought Last Years Model Or Perhaps Older The Competion Did You Own This Model Or Fred Is It Going To Kill My Feet. I Wanted A Nemo But Seemed The Shipping Was Costly. Probably too late but has anyone figured out how to order a monofin at this website? Does it just not work with Safari or did I miss something?
Aloha
Bill

Bill,

I bought a LD #2 from them a few years ago and had to do all the ordering through emails- I couldn't get it to work dricetly like I can witht he PFI site. I had to order my monofins from Specialfins the same way.

Rob , did you get the #1 or the #2?

Jon

Jon I Bought Number 1 With Middle Distance Hope It Comes Soon Are My Feet Going To Be Able To Handle It Hope It Fits Have Been Using My Fins Together Trying To Practice Have Never Tried Mono Hope I Am Not Throwing Money Away.

Rob,

That's a good monofin, just not the most comfortable. With practice you will get more used to it. Even though it's not as comfortable as a monofin with full foot pockets, I found it to be faster, and more efficent, in the water.

What size did you get? I had the #2 and heard that the #1 was better. I'd like to give it a try next time we dive.

Jon

Jon Went With Xl Size Hope It Comes Soon. Read Post From Fred A Old Post Is Sizeing A Problem. Hope To Dive With You Soon Jon Is Weather Is Great For Stimulateing The Dive Reflex.

FYI, I just got an e-mail from Peter from Waterway and he said its just the Toronto location closing and hence the sale.

I guess there is not a big enough of a market for monofins to run a company and live of the profit.

Waterway as a company will not dissapear and it is the biggest in the business and is not some garage company with fins made by some induvidual monofin coach in russia.

Most other smaller brands buy parts like the blade from others and just marely assembels and glues together the product.

So did Peter close this business in Canada ? So where does one buys Waterway mono fins at reasonable price nowadays without having to pay $50.00 for shipping to USA ?

It seems PFI is handling N. American distribution. I e-mailed Bogdan directly about ordering a mono recently and I was referred to Mandy-Rae at PFI (performancefreediving.com). To save on the $89 shipping fee, it helps to order more than one mono. According to Mandy-Rae, up to 3 monos can be shipped for $89.

Hi. Would any of you know the email of Bogdan? Or maybe give an idea how long before an order is placed?

Odered a model one, and paid through paypal. I'm trying to get a follow up through email as to what happend to the order and I'm not getting a response...

Thanks.

I recently ordered a mono from PFI on Dec 22. Mandy-Rae informed me that it was good timing that I ordered it then because apparently, on Dec. 28, Waterway closed for a few weeks for the holidays. I have contacted Bogdan before at: lyashuk@waterway.kiev.ua which was obtained via his website - WaterWay company.

Thanks Josh. Was just a little worried that until now I'm not getting any response. I ordered just about the same time, end of Dec. Just wanted to check if the email I was sending was really his..

That's correct on the shipping. My wife and I each got a waterway Nemo, which we love, a bit average performance (same for me as plastic Gara Bifins( though very very comfotable and we got both for $89 shipping and there were shipped direct from Europe and took I think only 2 1/2 weeks. Also we have used both for over 1 year lots and zero problems on either fin.

Cheers Wes Lapp

I know its been years since you posted in this area, but in th eevent you see this. I am new to freediving and am deciding between the Waterway Model 2 and the Nemo... Your suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
thanks, Natkins

if you want to wear it in comfort for long duration I'd go with the nemo, I have a model 1, a glide, a nemo, and a tropol mono. I think my nemo is the weaker of these fins performance wise but is a nice recreational fin and very easy and forgiving for beginners.
