It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
Performance wise it doesn't look effective at all, looks like more drag than anything else.

Merlin,

Try using one before judging. You might be amazed.

I dont need to... it goes against everything that must people train for (STREAMLINE). Sure it may be fun and more maneuverable but that's it. Can you not see a bad swimming technique by just watching a video?

Sometimes bad technique is what you want. So called 'bad technique' was the method used to set the first several monofin CW records. It was only later that it was realized by the critics that there are certain advantages to the so-called bad technique (such as decreased upper body oxygen consumption, decreased chest flexing reducing the risk of squeeze, etc.)

this thing is not for me, i guess. the guy seemingly has a hard time swimming straight

eric, peter p also said that he's doing cw with 'bad techique' (compared to his dyn style, that is). i don't think that it is necessarily 'bad technique' to be more relaxed in the upper body as compared to the classic finswimming style but rather a development considering the requirements and demands of deep diving.

cheers,

roland
