i left to Sokhna yesterday with my wife and son, for those of you who dont know it, its about 150KM from cairo south east, just south of Suez on the red sea..its becoming quite popular lately for being very close and the road to Sokhna is also new and excellent..many hotels and resorts have opened there and still opening...
My dad has a house there and a boat, so i go almost every weekend,,the fishing there isnt super but every once in awhile youd get a decent fish...
a lot of people go trolling and angling there and some people spearfish...
THe weather was just great when we arrived and until we left this afternoon, 30 degrees (celsius), SUNNY, and calm flat clear sea...imagine that in MArch!!,
My dad was there, so we took the boat this morning 9AM and we went trolling for about 3 hours, (usually we could catch spanish mackerel, or jackfish) we were sure we would get something, but nope empty no strikes at all...
anyway we got back to the house and theres a reef right across, so i took the gear and swam it and searched and searched.. nothing again..i had a great time though, i swam for about an hour, wearing swimtrunks and a 1mm Riffe Top without a hood and i wasnt cold...since i couldnt find any fish, i decided to setup the mooring for my new RIB, i had an old mooring for my older RIB, but since we removed the float and lines, chain etc... i had to start looking for it, and i found it, also found some great spare stuff, breakdown oars, spare fuel tank, anchor etc...
Ihab was there too, gave me a shout, i could see his boat in the distance, he also didnt catch anything...
I have a good feeling about this summer

Way to go Ronnie, but my trigger happy finger is dying for some fish. Lets plan for next week, ok?!!
