Hello all, i kinda have a unique question i recently purchased a 5mm Cressi Sub Tecnica 2 piece open cell suit and am looking to offset the positive buoyancy of it,

When i say offset the buoyancy i usually dive slightly positive,i used to have a 3mm full scuba suit but i decided to get into spear fishing,

But my question is, how much weight would be needed to simply offset the buoyancy 2mm of suit,i'm looking to have this 5mm have the buoyancy of a 3mm suit.

I have no problem getting down on a 3mm and actually go neutral at around 40ft.

Much thanks gentlemen.

I like to be neutral at about 14m or so (46 ft) and use 2 kg (4.4 lbs) to do so on my 5mm.

You may feel more positive on the surface, but remember that the neoprene shrinks and you lose that buoyancy pretty fast.

Try 5 lbs and check your neutral buoyancy point.

Also, new suits are quite buoyant and may compress / settle in after some deeper dives, So it's important to re-check buoyancy after a few dive trips.
