Is an open-cell wetsuit more or less buoyant than a similar standard neoprene scuba suit? I got a Hammerhead Adaptation 7mm skin-in suit for Christmas and I'm trying to figure-out how much weight I should start with. I'm 5'9", 161 lbs and normally use 17 lbs when wearing a one piece 7mm Pinnacle suit with a hooded vest. I was thinking of starting with 17 lbs on my new suit and adding/subtracting from there...does this sound right?

Sounds good to me, there will be a slight difference between different neoprene types, stiffer less compressible ones have less bubbles hence less buoyancy super stretchy ones might well have more bubbles and be more buoyant but there wont be that much in it.
