Hi people! I am having serious issues wearing a weight vest, it just ruins my apnea!
I did make a DIY chest belt, which is much better because it doesn' t squeeze that much. It is a small belt made of 0.5 k standard belt leads, total of 2 or 3 k (depending on the suit) all in front of the chest. I have used it for several years, but, still, my apnea is much better without it.
So, question is: Do you have any ideas on how to wear some extra weights? Perhaps the arms or legs? (except the waist of course...) I have seen ankle weights but I don't like the idea.

Ankle weights are great for adding a kilo or two, they help spread the load and assist trim. I used to be dubious but they work well..... in my opinion ;)

Well, I hesitate. Many say that when you swim a lot, they bring too much fatigue. Some say they only use them for static ambush.

When you wear a normal weight belt it should fit as low as possible, around your hips, butt, just above your privates. If you wear it too high it will interfere with your belly breathing, and restrict free diaphragm movement

I wear it as you pρerscribe my friend, but when the weight is over 5k it is too much to carry round the waist. As you can understand, my fishing is in the shallows, and during winter, wearing 5mm suit about 8k are needed, maybe more.

I know what you mean but personally I don't find that they make too much of a difference, look on the bright side, they're giving your legs more of a work out :D
