My weight belt was bought from a Scuba shop many years ago when I just enjoyed snorkelling and had been told that spearfishing was a really bad thing to do :naughty
For this reason I am still going around with bright yellow plastic coated weights which doesn't look very spearo.
Any idea what fish think of yellow weights? Do they care, or is it just a fashion thing that we all like to dress in black?
Has anybody ever tried taking the plastic off these weights?
 
My weights were yellow when i got them but you can remove the plastic. It takes a long time to do them but it looks more cool rofl if you are all in black
 
I would suggest you keep them.
Im have used lots of colours and havent noticed any difference in reaction of fishes and its also nice because your buddy in surface can spot you easier when you re diving deep.

You can change the color on your weights by painting the plastic/vinil coating.Use spray can with paint for plastic or vinyl- it is available in most automobile supply stores. Also there is a product call "Plasti Dip" (plastidip.com) in which you can dip the whole weight and coat it with plastic rubbery coat. It is available in the basic colors and it sells in hardware and marine stores.
