WooHoo the Olympics come to the UK
No limits in the Thames?

Uhhhh ..... No.

That would be cheating after all. You could hide a Tank/Reg at 2 meters and it woudl NEVER be seen by the judges... Heck, after 2 meters, it wouldn't be FOUND by the divers! :yack

Congrats to London though!

rofl it would bring a whole new meaning to diving with a float :yack

Go London!!!

I hope we get some great sports facilities - we need them! The Aquatic Centre sounds very good - two 50m pools and a diving pool, and some outdoor watersports.

Congrats to London! :) I never thought Madrid would make it as Barcelona had the games very recently. I was surprised though as I thought Paris would be the big winner. But I'm actually happy that London has it.

The IOC did not like the French saying NO to the EU

Maybe they can use the dome for something a bit more constructive

HAHAHA

2 x 50m pools!!!!! wow

maybe we can pitch for the AIDA Indoor Worlds in 2013!!

I remember when Dallas lost the bid. I don't know how we didn't get the spot.

Perhaps our presentation could've been a bit better...

Our Olympic slogun was going to be "Hold my beer and watch this!"

hahah OH MY L-O-R-D sinko you had me in tears with that.

Congrats to London! Is it true that Deepestbear will be lighting the flame on opening day?

No wonder! Everyone knows that guests should have the best seats! And where's the hot dog stand? Sheesh...

I can't think why Dallas lost... you've got everything...

rofl

I hope we'll be allowed to use the facilities for freediving.

I've also reached 500 posts today! (This isn't due to competitive posting, where I write large quantities of rubbish just to show off that I've done hundreds of posts!)

Well, that's another thing that the commitee asked us. We thought the hot dog stand was the name of an event....kind of like birling...except on a giant hot dog heating roller.

Ohmagod, Chirac must be grinding his teeth over this! What a hoot! Perhaps it will sink in that it isn't just the Americans who would cheerfully strangle any nearby Parisian, but not only the IOC but most of the rest of France feels the same way. You go Olde Blightye!
