I am only 47kg, 164cm and take a junior size in most suits. I want to find a WARM suit for freediving in the UK :thankyou and its proving a mission.
Any other muscular but skinny women out there with a good winter suit ?
I am new to the forum and will welcome any comments anyone can make.xxxRuti

Custom all the way.

I have an outline / overview of my thoughts on my blog.

There are many providers that can make a custom suit for you.

We're pretty exactly the same height/weight. I've got big hips/rear for my frame, small waist, small shoulders, and am pretty athletic. I can't wear junior suits because I need the hip/waist shaping. I can't wear men's suits because if they fit in the hips they're baggy through the waist and shoulders. And most women's suits that are correct for my weight are way too short in the arms and legs. I'm sure you know all about these problems!

I currently just wear my Fourth Element scuba suit to freedive.... which is not optimal but is the only suit I've ever gotten my hands on (and I've been through three others and just layered to try and get them to work and tried on countless others) that actually fits me. Good fit is the trade off I'm dealing with so far, better than the exactly right kind of suit that is loose in the shoulders and fairly useless for warmth as a result.

I hear great things about Elios especially for their women's suits, but have not been able to try one. Have you?

Mako is also coming out with a women's specific cut suit for spearfishing soon... I don't fish but I'm always interested in a suit that might fit so I'm keeping an eye on that.

Good luck!

dive skin can make you a suit for less than many off the shelf suits .. 189 US $ or about £130 delivered to UK (they are in Greece but deal in $)

i have ordered a suit and -cheap- cressi reactors from and American site but on arrival, i had to pay another £48 to receive them. I thought everything was paid for so be careful when ordering cheaper abroad BUT i AM IN LURVE! Got myself a tri- wetsuit for £140 over here (Blueseventy sprint) 5MM-3MM and meshes for protection. These are sized up in 2" per size so even smaller and larger people can get the exact glove like fit with a really flexible soft feel. The suit feels like you are wearing - nothing and is sooooo light that you can carry it anywhere. Thanks for the advice as I have never worn a tri suit before as i thought they were fragile. now I need some buddies who want to meet up to go to Malta and Thailand with me as well as train in the UK all year round.
