Hey all, I just got my wetsuit. 3mil smoothskin/opencell. I was wondering, how do you guys store your suit? I've noticed that it creases very easily. I don't want it to crease, it looks ugly. do you guys hang your suit? If so, how do you hang the high waist pants?

I use a wide shouldered hanger for the jacket and a hanger with clips on it for the trousers. The clips do compress the neoprene but the area is so small it doesn't bother me.

I hang the jacket by the tail over a hanger, and hang the pants by the sholder thingy.

Right, thanks Pastor. But with the hanger, the arms will stick out yea? And it'll fold somewhere midway won't it, due to gravity acting on the the ends of the sleeves. Won't that create a crease?

Gwaihir, what do you mean hang the pants by the shoulder thingy? I'm lost. =)

Another question for you guys. Are your pants high waists? Every photo I see of people in suits don't seem to be wearing high waists. I say so because when I put my top over the pants, there's a bulge over where the top-end of the pants is under the top, and pictures I've seen of people in suits don't seem to have this bulge. Am I wearing it wrongly in anyway?

'Are your pants high waists?'

I think most of us trim the high waist in the front to the bottom of the rib cage.

Just feels better that way. Less restriction on the chest. 3mm is one thing but if you've ever worn a 6mm medium density it 'feels' like a huge difference.

To me it feels tight around the chest because of the high waist even with the 3, I cannot imagine how it'll be with a 6. So how do you guys do it? Grab a pair of shears and go snip snip?

this should do it. thicker tube is 75mm, narrower 50mm. all available in DIY store.

'Grab a pair of shears and go snip snip?'
Old rules .. measure twice, cut once. Easy enough to glue back on if you need to. Practice on some old stuff. Don't forget to cinch the stitches where you cut them (thread or glue).

Cinch? What does that mean? So you reinforce the cut places with glue?

azapa, that is a really ingenious piece of equipment! So do you stand it up like that when you store it? Will the end of the top tube press against the neoprene onto the wall?

yes, i leave it standing in a shady corner of the house, just leaning gently against a wall. it's a year old and is in perfect shape bar the urchin spikes through the knees and elbows..

Alrighty. Cheers azapa! How did you get urchin spikes on your elbow? On knees or bottom I can understand, but on elbow puzzles me a bit.

Gosh, my suit wrinkles so easily! My heart aches just to fold it for transporting. Oh by the way, how do you guys fold it for tansporting? And pardon the stupid question, but are wrinkles on the suit bad?
