Whale research: Terry Irwin

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
It is a pity she has associated herself with Sea Shepard. I believe that scientific research should be done without the emotional and violent tactics if Sea Shepard.

Hooray for the whales!!

I have been known to 'research' seafood myself.

Do they serve a mcwhale sandwich at the japanese m--donalds? They could research the effects on the people who eat it and make a movie; Extra Super-Size Me.

I don't think there is a question as to the reason for the taking of so many whales. This move will just sort of rub the conniving in. Besides that, what is the real value of pulling something apart to see how it is made when you know damn well you can't put it back together? :duh Just say it- "I want a humpback" Sounds sexy

Increase in Oxygen Helped Mammals Dominate | LiveScience

"They found that the air contained only about 10 percent oxygen at the time of the dinosaurs.
By 50 million years ago the oxygen level had risen to 17 percent and it was 23 percent 40 million years ago, they reported. Currently the air contains about 21 percent oxygen".

As long as we keep burning fossil fuels at such a high rate, the oxygen/CO2 ratio is guaranteed to return to the dinosaur age. That's simple math, no political or Sea Shepard association required.

People have been eating seal, whale, dugong meat for a million years, yet there were plenty of these animals until high-tech mass industrial harvesting for their oil and other products. This harvesting paid no attention to the ecological balance of the ocean; whalers and sealers even targeted the birthing lagoons in order to maximise the kill rate. It was only a matter of time. Finally there were so few remaining it just wasn't worth the cost, so they switched to deep net trawling for fish schools and promptly eliminated most of the large fish stocks. Now it's the sharks and sea turtles and lower quality fisheries.

As long as there is oxygen and water, there will be animals in the sea, but they may not be what we like. Jellyfish and red tide don't sound appetizing, though they can be beautiful,

Anyway, good luck to Terry Irwin, keep the water blue.
