Now I know as well as anyone what "they" say about sharks......eat and mate....right? However, have you ever wondered what they are REALLy thinking as they circle you? Seems to me that they are smarter than we give them credit.

Your thoughts?

I am terrified of sharks. But that fear is unfounded. I just have never been in the water with one. I would guess though that they are just as smart or smarter than dogs. I know dolphins are. Tell you what, when you make friends with one and keep him as a pet, let us all know. ha ha ha :)

Marci,

I can think of other pets I'd probably go for first..............I think your inmates would react with more predictability than a shark.

What are sharks thinking? The question assumes sharks have some human like thought process or even emotions. I don't think there is any evidence to support that. The shark has adapted complex behaviors to survive. Eating humans isn't really adaptive to the shark and that is why sharks generally don't eat (but do bite sometimes) people. If locals dive regularly in an area and say they feel safe, you should too. If sharks think they are probably thinking "these humans are dangerous and kill thousands of sharks for every one human we get."
